Andaman Islands is a group of islands located in the South-East of the peninsula of India. Andaman’s name comes from the word Hanuman, which is the word in Malayalam for Hindu deity, Hanuman. Flanked by beaches and tall trees, the island is a beach destination offers a number of attractive beaches. Activities that you can do such as swimming, boating, bath and pamper to sports such as snorkeling and scuba diving. Other attractions that you can visit is a Mini Zoo, Chidiya Tapu, Madhuban, Gandhi Park and Ross Island. Andaman Islands is also the home of a rich culture and people are very friendly. It is home to the only known Paleolithic people, the Sentinel, who had contact with other people.
Andaman Islands are home to a number of animals, and many of them are endemic – can not be found anywhere else. The island’s endemic mammals include: Andaman spiny rats, mice, and Horseshoe bats. Andaman also has a number of endemic reptiles, such as the South Andaman Krait (Bungarus andamanensis) is a species of krait (venomous elapid snakes) and Andaman water monitor (Varanus salvator andamanensis), which is a large lizard native to South Asia. The natural vegetation of the Andaman Islands is tropical forests, and mangroves in the coastal areas. Meanwhile, the forest area in the South Andaman has epiphyte vegetation, mostly overgrown by ferns and orchids. Although the population is growing very rapidly in the Islands, driven by immigration from mainland India, forest areas also largely unspoiled. Little Andaman, Narcondam, North and South Andaman, Andaman is protected areas to preserve beaches and marine life. Hotels in Andaman all classes and offer all modern facilities.
